Not much has been happening. And that's a good thing. Since we are in the Maintenance phase, appointments are more spread out. He has been doing really well since the last treatment. His energy level is good, and really just acts like a normal kid.
This past week, we took Evan and Alivia to a Mud Hens game. On the way, we were talking about how about twelve years prior we had a cool experience there. Jess and I took Seth, Michael, and Grace to a Mud Hens game. When we walked in, a worker from the Mud Hens came up to us and asked if Michael wanted to be the "play ball kid". It was really cool to be on the field and take part in this part of a game's ceremony. Well, once we arrived at the game this past week, same thing happened. The girl asked if Evan wanted to be the play ball kid. Strange odds! Anyway, he exclaimed "play ball" at the appointed time and everyone clapped. He also got a home run ball as a souvenir.
This coming week, he has to go back for bloodwork Monday and if that all looks good, he will have an LP with IT MTX and IV MTX and Vincristine on Tuesday. As it stands today, we have no reason to believe his lab work will be abnormal. He is doing very well.
I will put out an update sometime after Tuesday to let everyone know how he is doing.
Thank you all for your prayers for Evan. They do work and they are working. As we creep up on the one- year anniversary of the worst day of our lives, it is hard to imagine getting through such a time as this without the amazing support from so many. Likewise, it is hard to imagine getting through such a storm as this without our eternal Father, Creator, Defender, Friend being there every step of the way. To navigate this stormy and rough life without knowing where the lighthouse is has to be one of the worst feelings in the world. With God, at least we are assured of His eternal plan, His love, and His will for our lives.
Such great news for your precious one! Continued prayers for Evan and family.
